Route 236: last day of crew operation
16 April 1971 - the end of an era (or perhaps the beginning of
the end - double-deck crew operation lasted until 9 December 2005). These photos are of
RF433, taken on that day; this bus also ran the 236 at the Hackney Marshes running day. See also
the pictures on the main 236 page.
We asked whether anyone could identify the exact location of
this picture. Thanks to Pat Spencer, a driver from
Tottenham garage on the 236 from 1965 to 1968, we now know that
this is the end of Alexandra Road, Leyton, turning into York
Road.
