Following the disastrous 1958 strike, schedules were reduced and more RFs became available. In addition, a programme of lowering roads under low railway bridges continued, allowing routes to be double-decked. These factors enabled further conversions from the T and TD classes.

1959 routes, in order of RF introduction:

Route 250 was deeply rural, and was notable for short workings to Passingford Bridge, the exact opposite

of a traffic objective. The passengers, and driver, in this 1975 shot look as though there is nowhere to go

until the bus goes back. Which there isn't.
