To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the last conductor-operated single-deck bus in
London, and the last low-height double-deck bus, there was a free
service on Easter Sunday 2006 over the following old London
Transport routes:
178 Clapton
Pond to Stratford Maryland Station
208 Clapton
Pond to Bromley-by-Bow
208A Clapton Pond to
Stratford Maryland Station
236 Leyton to
Dalston via Hackney Wick
38A
Leyton to Dalston via Clapton Pond
These routes ran in the area that will soon be
transformed as the 2012 Olympic Park
takes shape.
This section of the site was available in advance of the event
and gives details of the routes,
timetables and a map of the services, plus some historical notes
on the buses and the area.
