Enjoy the RAF Museum

Opened in 1972 by Her Majesty the Queen and situated on the historic site of Hendon's London Aerodrome in Colindale, the Royal Air Force Museum London is the only London attraction to house over 100 aircraft from around the world, including very early aircraft designs through to the latest military jets.  It offers the most comprehensive collection of Battle of Britain aircraft in Europe.

With free admission plus free interactive and fun activities, including 3D Cinema and Our Finest Hour the Museum’s sound and light show, the Museum offers entertaining and educational days out for all the family.  As 2010 marks 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain the Museum will be hosting a series of free events throughout the year dedicated to ‘The Few’. For further details of these events please visit www.rafmuseum.org/london.

The Royal Air Force Museum London is open daily from 10am to 6pm and admission is free.  The nearest tube is Colindale (Northern Line), from which the Museum is a 10 minute walk or a short bus ride on the 303.  Or come on 29 August and travel by free classic bus.

Enthusiasts should put also the weekend of 11-12 September in their diaries, the Battle of Britain special celebration will include services between the museum and Colindale and Mill Hill using buses from 1940.
